Job Description

Growing and multifaceted community center in Sterling, AK is seeking a part time office administrator, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Position is temporary with the possibility of becoming Permanent.

Under the direction of the SCC Board of Directors, the office administrator will manage and oversee the daily function of SCC programs and facilities. Duties will include, but are not limited to, welcoming and assisting members, visitors, and program participants, answering and addressing phone calls and emails, directing and overseeing volunteers, maintaining class, program, and event registrations, member databases, electronic calendars, website, and social media accounts. Administrator also assists with the development of reports, newsletters, publicity, program and promotional materials, event planning, and implementation. The SCC Office Administrator will prepare reports and maintain communication with SCC

Board of directors on a regular basis.

 

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, professional public image, be self-motivated, goal oriented, and be a flexible team player that is able to work in a highly collaborative yet independent environment. Applicant should exhibit excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.

 

Computer skills should include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, graphics, database, group messaging and social media. Website experience helpful. Strong organizational, verbal, and written skills important, as is ability to work independently, multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Previous nonprofit and/or community experience helpful. If selected for interview, computer skills testing may be administered.
